Clock Department Configuration

Overview

In the majority of clock configurations, Bullhorn Time & Expense creates reporting and invoicing solutions by pairing worked hours with assignment details. Assignment details may vary as needed, but generally always include pay rate, bill rate, and assignment number.

As there could be thousands of uniquely configured assignments active at any moment for a client, assignment numbers act as individual identifiers to track labor details. Bullhorn Time & Expense relies on assignment numbers to accurately sort pay and bill information, create reports, and properly start and end assignments for employees. Bullhorn Time & Expense allows a range of department and assignment configuration options to allow flexible time keeping and minimize ongoing maintenance.

Configuration Options

There are four methods by which Bullhorn Time & Expense can track department and assignment details:

Due to integration or system restrictions, some configuration options may not be supported. Explore each of the options below:

  • One Department - a simple configuration that involves a single assignment number, department, and pay and bill rate for each employee.
  • Multiple Departments - assigns multiple departments with unique assignment details to each employee.
  • Open Departments - assigns a single assignment number, pay rate, and bill rate to any department worked for each employee.
  • Master Departments - a group of departments share a single assignment number and details.
