Evaluation
Evaluation is the automated process of analyzing raw timesheet data and applying configured rules to generate pay and bill transactions. Evaluation is done by the Time & Labor Rules Engine that runs automatically in the background. This is the core function that transforms time entries into properly calculated payroll and billing data. Learn more about the evaluation process and setting your environment up for successful and accurate evaluation below.
How the Evaluation Process Works
Time & Labor's Evaluation Process has the following functionality:
-
Automatic process triggered when timesheets are submitted or modified.
-
Sequential rule application based on the priority order of rules set in the client's database.
-
One-time evaluation (each hour can only be categorized once).
-
Separate evaluation for Pay Rules and Bill Rules.
-
State/Province restrictions are enforced during evaluation.
Understanding the Evaluation Process Workflow
The following steps outline the evaluation workflow.
-
Time Entry Collection: Raw Time entries are gathered from the timesheet based on the evaluation period.
-
Grouping Application: Time is grouped according to Combine Criteria (Candidate or Placement Level).
-
Rule Priority Processing: Rules are applied in strict priority order, starting with the lowest number. See Time Processing Rules & Priority to learn more about Rules and priority ordering.
-
Transaction Generation: Each evaluated hour becomes a transaction with appropriate categorization.
