Flexible Distance Filtering for Jobs to Candidate (Semantic Match)

Job Match

New distance filtering options in Semantic Match give customers greater control over how location impacts job matching.

What’s New?

The Semantic Match service now supports both minimum and maximum distance filtering when matching jobs to candidates. Customers can also choose to disable distance filtering altogether by unchecking the Filter On Distance option under Settings > Website Integration > Semantic Match.

These enhancements offer more nuanced control over how location influences match results, especially in remote or travel-based recruiting scenarios.

Why Does It Matter?

  • Greater Flexibility: Recruiters can fine-tune match results by specifying both a minimum and maximum distance—or choose to ignore distance entirely.

  • Remote Relocation Support: Ideal for roles like remote jobs or travel nursing where location is flexible or secondary.

  • Improved Matching Accuracy: Helps return more relevant job matches based on preferred distance constraints.

Note

  • If Filter On Distance is enabled, at least one of the distance fields (Min or Max) must be filled.

  • Setting both MinDistance and MaxDistance to the same value will return a precise match on that distance.

  • It’s acceptable to leave MinDistance empty or set to 0 if MaxDistance is defined.

These updates make Semantic Match more adaptable to diverse recruiting needs, ensuring better alignment between candidate preferences and job requirements.
