Alternate Shift Differential
Time & Labor Rules
What’s new?
An enhancement to Time and Labor’s existing Shift Differential functionality allows customers to split out the differential rate from the base rate on an invoice. h3.
Why does it matter?
We know that customers can be very particular about the data they see on an invoice! If a customer needs to see a worker's hours split into 40 hours at a base rate and 40 hours of the shift differential, Time and Labor can support that configuration using our new Differential configuration.
The new Differential option allows the base rate for a shift and the differential rate for a shift to be calculated separately, giving you the ability to generate invoices that break out the base rate and differential rate for shift workers. Differential rates are mapped to unit-based Earn Codes.
The original Shift Differential type, Combined, is the default configuration for Shift Differentials and is still available to support combining the base rate with the differential rate. This type of Shift Differential is designed to be used with hours-based Earn Codes.
How do I enable this?
Early Access: Please reach out to your Account Manager if you would like to enable the Differential configuration for Shift Differentials.
