Amplify Chat: Prevent Overlapping Requests and Allow Cancellation

What’s new?

Amplify Chat (both Global and Record-level) now prevents users from sending another message while Amplify is still processing the previous one. The message input is temporarily disabled until the response is complete. You can also now cancel an in-progress request if you need to stop or restart it.

Why does it matter?

This update prevents unexpected behavior caused by sending multiple messages too quickly and ensures more predictable, easy-to-follow interactions with Amplify Chat. It also gives you more control by allowing you to cancel a request that’s still in progress.

How do I enable this?

This improvement is automatically available for all customers using Amplify Chat. No setup is required.
