Information on the Dashboard
The Activities Performed by Owner dashboard is divided into 3 areas:
Date Range Slider
If the data returned by the dashboard has activities on only one day, no Date Range Slider is displayed.
The Date is based on the Journal creation date (and then by Branch association).
The slider displays the previous 12 months from the current date . However, the slider begin and end dates are also filtered by the Users displayed. In other words, the begin date (left-most) displays the date of the first activity during the 12 month period performed by one of the Users. Thus, if today’s date is 7/28/15 and the first activity within the last 12 months associated with one of the listed Users is on 8/5/2014, the slider will start with the date 8/5/2014. In the same vein, the end date (right-most) displays the date of the latest activity during the 12 month period associated with one of the listed Users. Thus, if the last time an activity performed by one of the listed Users was on 6/25/2015, the slider will end with the date 6/25/2015.
You can click on either end of the slider to change the beginning and ending date on the slider. This causes the data in the Placement Activities by Branch chart and the Placement Activities by User table to refresh with data from the new date range.
You cannot go beyond the originally defaulted begin and end dates. For example, if the default begin date on the slider is 8/5/2014, you cannot choose a date prior to 8/5/2014.
Placement Activities by Branch chart
To learn how to run this sub-report on its own, see Submittal Chart.
This chart displays activities performed by Users by associated Branch. The User's Home Branch is selected by default, but can be changed by using the filtering options (see Changing the Dashboard Filters below). The number of activities is displayed on the X-axis and the type of activity (Orders, Submittals, Presentations, Interviews, Offers, Assignments and Placements) is displayed on the Y-axis.
The data for the chart is gathered using the activity workflow's journal creation date and then branch association:
| Activity | Workflow or Entity | Branch Association |
|---|---|---|
| Orders | New Contract Job Order New Direct Hire Job Order | Job Order record |
| Candidate Submittals | Submit Internally | Submittal record |
| Client Presentations | Present to Client | Submittal record |
| Client Interviews | Interview Client | Meeting record |
| Make Offer | Make Offer | Submittal record |
| Assignments | Assignment | Assignment record |
| Placements | Placement | Placement record |
You can see the various branches displayed to the right of the Stack Bar graph.
By clicking on an branch name, you can cause that branch's bar to disappear/reappear in the chart. You can tell if a branch's bar is not appearing in the chart because 1) the bar representing the branch no longer displays and 2) the Branch Name is grayed out. Clicking on the Branch Name toggles it between displayed and not displayed.
The area with the Branch Names also indicates the color on the bar associated with the activity.
Placement Activities by User table
To learn how to run this sub-report on its own, see Submittal Tabular.
This table displays the activities within the selected date range for the selected Branches performed by the selected User(s). The User's Home Branch is selected by default, but can be changed by using the filtering options (see Changing the Dashboard Filters below). The User's name makes up the rows and the activity types make up the columns. Each cell displays a count of activities performed by the User based on Journal creation date and branch association.
| Activity | Workflow or Entity | Branch Association |
|---|---|---|
| Orders | New Contract Job Order New Direct Hire Job Order | Job Order record |
| Candidate Submittals | Submit Internally | Submittal record |
| Client Presentations | Present to Client | Submittal record |
| Client Interviews | Interview Client | Meeting record |
| Make Offer | Make Offer | Submittal record |
| Assignments | Assignment | Assignment record |
| Placements | Placement | Placement record |
Refreshing the Dashboard
In the upper left corner of the dashboard (beneath the "Activities Performed by User" tab), the
icon refreshes the dashboard. The newly displayed dashboard will reflect any changes since the last time the dashboard was refreshed (new activities, User changes, etc.).
Changing the Dashboard Filters
The
icon allows you to change the filters on the dashboard. When you initially display the dashboard, it uses the default filters. For example, it might always display a specific branch. Clicking
allows you to change those filter parameters.
For the Activities Performed by User dashboard, you can edit the following filters:
- Branch Name (Default: Current User's Default Branch)
- User Name
For each filter, you can change the Condition and Value of the filter. The specific options you can choose from depend on a variety of factors including the type of data (date, currency, text, etc.), branch security access and other factors.
Changes made to the filtering criteria do NOT persist. In other words, when you leave the dashboard and return to it, all default filters are re-applied.

Value
For performance purposes the following two items should be noted when using the Values droplist. First, in order to enhance performance, once a value is selected, the droplist only displays those items alphabetically/numerically AFTER the selected item. To see all items again, delete the value (select it and press Delete on your keyboard) and then use the droplist. All items will display. Second, in order to enhance performance, the droplist only displays a set number of records. If the list of possible values is longer than the displayed list, select the name at the bottom of the list as the value. When you next click the droplist, the rest of the items display.
The Branch droplist only displays those branches to which you have branch access. The User droplist only displays those Users who have access to at least one branch for which you also have access. Thus, the User list may show users that do not have access to the selected Branch value.
-
<Blank> : By selecting the text in the Value column and deleting it, the Dashboard returns all possible Values. For example, if you leave the Branch value blank, all branches for which you have access display Dashboard.
-
Single Value: To select a single value, click the droplist and select the item from the list.
-
Double Values: To select two values, click the droplist on each value and select the item from the list.
-
Multiple Values: To select multiple values, click the top droplist to select a value to add to the list. You can also type in the name of the branch and then click the middle arrow to add it to the list. To see the items on the list, click the lower droplist. To remove an item from the list, click the red X to the right of the item.
Chart Specific Actions
The following actions are specific to the Placement Activities by Branch chart and are accessed by either right-clicking or left-clicking anywhere within the chart area.
Changes made to the chart do NOT persist. In other words, when you leave the dashboard and return to it, all default chart settings are re-applied.
Right-Click Actions
-
Type: This option allows you to change the type of chart displayed. Options are Line Types, Bar Types and Column Types. Once you click on one of the Types, you are given additional options. For example, if you select Line Types, additional options are Line, Spline, Area and Spline Area. Click on the option you want and the type of chart changes instantly. The default is Stack Bar.
You can also select to use 3D Style or not by clicking the Use 3D Style checkbox. 3D style gives the chart depth. Otherwise, the chart displays in flat 2D.
-
Theme: This option allows you to select from several pre-set themes. A theme changes the overall look of the chart (mainly by changing the colors on the chart). The default is BullhornChart.
One option is Linear Range. This allows you to select a starting and ending color. The chart then displays lines, bars and columns using a range of colors between the starting and ending color.
- Legend Location: This option allows you to determine where you want the chart's legend located. Options are None (no legend), Right and Bottom. The default is Right. Selecting Bottom places the legend on the bottom of the chart.
- Sort By: This option allows you to select how items in the chart are sorted. Select Report Order to follow the order of information on the report (in either ascending or descending order). Select Data Labels to sort the chart by the data labels (in either ascending or descending order).
- Invert Data: Selecting invert data changes the position of activities and branches on the chart. By default, activities are displayed along the Y-axis and branches are displayed with the stack bar. By inverting data, the Y-axis now displays branches and the stack bar displays activities. Clicking Invert Data again places the chart back to its normal data presentation
Left-Click Actions
: Use this icon to refresh the data on the chart. The newly displayed chart reflects any changes since the last time the chart was refreshed (new activities, User changes, etc.).
This only impacts the specific chart. To refresh the entire dashboard select the
icon in the upper-left corner of the dashboard.
: Use the droplist next to this icon to export the information in the chart to a variety of formats.
Once you select one of the above options, you will have the option to open or save the newly formatted table. In the Dashboard itself, click Close on the small dialog that displays. You will also notice that a new tab has been added to the Dashboard. You can close this tab.
Table Specific Actions
There are two actions that allow access to the Table actions. The first is performed by right-clicking on a table. The second is performed by left-clicking on a table.
Right-Click Actions
Right-clicking on a column header displays rich-text format controls allowing you to change the font, size, color and style of the selected text. You can also select to wrap text if it goes beyond the width of the cell borders.
Right-clicking on a cell in the table selects the data column as a whole. You can use the pop-up controls to change the font, size, color and style of the selected text (including word wrapping). You can also use the top drop-list to select the cells to which you would like to apply the new format. For example, you might want to highlight Order totals above 50. In this case, right-click on a cell that displays "50" in the Orders column, select how you want to present numbers in the list that are greater than 50 (e.g., bold, larger font, green color) and select "Apply to greater values" from the droplist. This causes all numbers in the column that are greater than 50 to use the new format (e.g., bold, larger font, green color).
The following options are available from the top droplist:
- Apply to all: This applies any formatting changes to all rows in the selected table column.
- Apply to equal values: This applies any formatting changes to only those rows in the selected table column that match the data in the selected cell.
- Apply to unequal values: This applies any formatting changes to only those rows in the selected table column that do not match the data in the selected cell.
- Apply to greater values: This applies any formatting changes to only those rows in the selected table column that are greater than the amount in the selected cell.
- Apply to greater than or equal values: This applies any formatting changes to only those rows in the selected table column that are greater than or equal to the amount in the select cell.
- Apply to lesser values: This applies any formatting changes to only those rows in the selected table column that are less than the amount in the selected cell.
- Apply to less than or equal values: This applies any formatting changes to only those rows in the selected table column that are less than or equal to the amount in the select cell.
Left-Click Actions
Left clicking on any row of the table causes two icons to display next to the table.
: Use this icon to refresh the data on the table (report). The newly displayed table will reflect any changes since the last time the table was refreshed (new activities, Recruiter changes, etc.).
This only impacts the specific table. To refresh the entire dashboard select the
icon in the upper-left corner of the dashboard.
: Use the droplist next to this icon to export the information in the table to a variety of formats.
Once you select one of the above options, you will have the option to open or save the newly formatted table. In the Dashboard itself, click Close on the small dialog that displays. You will also notice that a new tab has been added to the Dashboard. You can close this tab.
The Find field allows you to quickly find information in the table. Type in all or a portion of a word or number in either the Column headers or the rows and all instances of it are highlighted in the table with the first instance selected. The up and down arrows allow you to move to the previous (up arrow) or next (down arrow) instance of the data you are trying to Find. This is helpful if the table contains a lot of data and you want to quickly move to a specific name or number in the table.
