Commissions Workflow
BBO Commissions gives you the ability to automatically calculate, manage, and approve commission payouts for your internal employees, such as recruiters and account managers, based on placements they make. Admins configure commission plans for each rep, which determine how commissions are calculated and how often they are paid out. As time is entered and approved against placements, reps automatically accrue commission, which admins can then review and approve for payout.
This article explains the Commissions Workflow from set up to post-payout reporting. The typical Commissions Workflow is as follows:
-
Set Up a Commission Profile: Commission profiles define how commissions are calculated and can be reused across multiple reps. See Setting Up Commission Profiles.
-
Set Up Internal Employees and Create Commission Plans: Before a rep can accrue commissions, commissions must be enabled on their employee record and a commission plan must be created to link them to a commission profile. See Setting Up Internal Employees to Receive Commissions
-
Verify Commission Recipients on the Placement: When a recruiter is added to a placement in the ATS, commission recipients are automatically populated in the Credit section of the placement record in BBO. You should verify that the correct reps, plans, and split percentages are in place before time is entered. This should be done as part of Setting Up Internal Employees to Receive Commissions
-
Manage and Approve Commission Payouts: As time is entered and approved for placements, reps begin accruing commissions. When a payout period is ready, admins review and approve it from the Payout sub-tab on the Commissions tab. See Managing and Approving Commissions.
All commissions calculations are done automatically by the system. For information on how BBO calculates commissions, see Commission Calculations.
-
Export Commission Data: Once payouts are approved, commission data can be exported in CSV, Excel, or PDF format for payroll processing. See Exporting and Saving Commission Data.
