JavaScript form does not accept accent characters

An error has occurred on the JavaScript forms, causing accent characters such as é or ï to not always be accepted.

This incident is resolved in FastForward release 2024.02.

What to expect

When a candidate uses an accent character in any of the fields and clicks the submit button, it may result in the form not being sent.

Solution

This issue will be addressed in the upcoming release of FastForward. We will update this article when more information about the release date is available.

Workarounds

  • The web developer has the option to add validation to fields and can display a notification when an accent character is used. In the API documentation, under Javascript Form API > Validation > Adding custom validators, you can find instructions on how to do this.
  • The web developer can add a message describing that accent characters are temporarily not allowed.
  • We can add a message to the form stating that accent characters are temporarily not allowed. To do this, create a ticket via support@connexys.com. Provide the text for the message and specify where it should be placed in the ticket.
