Bullhorn Automation August Release (2026.8)
Release highlights
The August 2026 (2026.8) release for Bullhorn Automation adds new list conditions and automation steps, improves messaging reliability, and protects enrollment lists and settings from accidental changes. See the detailed release notes below for the full list of changes.
Faster SMS Sending with Higher TextUs Rate Limits
SMS rate limits for messages sent through Bullhorn Automation to TextUs have been significantly increased, letting high-volume recruiting teams send candidate texts faster with no configuration required.
NewCopy Category Field to Candidate Records
Placement and submission automations can now copy the Category field directly onto Candidate profiles using the Update Candidate step, cutting down on manual data entry and keeping records consistent.
NewCustom User Fields in Job-Based Notifications
The Send Notification step in job-based automations can now target custom internal-user fields, such as Assigned Recruiter or Account Manager, so alerts automatically reach the right stakeholder.
NewJob Assigned Users as Sender in Submission Emails
Submission-based automations can now send email and screener steps from the Job Assigned User instead of a generic account, making candidate outreach feel more personal.
UpdatedImproved Visibility for Save As List Button
The Save As List button in Advanced Search is now more prominent, making it easier to capture and preserve search criteria as a list for future use.
New"Has File" / "Does Not Have File" List Condition for Companies
Automation list conditions now support filtering companies by whether they have attached files, enabling more targeted onboarding, compliance, and follow-up workflows based on document status.
UpdatedSave Button Disabled Until Automation Settings Change
The Save button in automation settings now stays disabled until an actual change is made, so admins can review settings safely without risking an accidental change to a live automation.
UpdatedEnrollment Lists Protected from Deletion
Enrollment lists that are the only source of records for an active automation can no longer be deleted, protecting automation workflows from accidental data loss.
