Upgrade Process
Background
Upgrades to your Bullhorn Recruitment Cloud Package can be requested at any time. Most upgrade requests will be handled by Bullhorn Support (it may be handled by Professional Services in certain cases). When handled by Support, the process normally takes about 2-3 weeks from when the initial case is raised. The process consists of two stages:
Upgrading the Sandbox Environment
Submit a Support Request
-
Submit a request to upgrade the Sandbox
Non Production Environments are used by customers to test new features prior to them going live. Environment
In Salesforce terminology, any type of instance where the application can be used, like a production instance (where users use the product daily) or a testing environment (a Salesforce instance created just to develop and test features). Or can be used with reference to an external database of your Org to a newer version. This is simply done by raising a Case through the normal Support paths.Upgrade requests can only be submitted by a designated Support Contact
The Support Contact (Account Contact, AC/SC, SC, AC) is the person who can contact Bullhorn Support at a particular company. and/or specifically assigned people as agreed between Bullhorn Support and you.
-
When submitting an Upgrade request, please ensure the Sandbox matches your Production environment as close as possible. The Sandbox should not be older than 6 months. This is to prevent any misalignment between your Sandbox and Production environments. For more information regarding a Sandbox refresh, please refer to Sandbox Refresh Help.
-
Please make sure to include the following in the request:
-
the Org Id(s) to be upgraded
-
the current Version number for each
-
This is optional, but can help us in quickly determining your upgrade time line.
-
-
the requested Version
-
This can be a specific Version number (e.g. 9.21.8), a release reference (e.g., ‘The 2026 April release’, or simply ‘The latest release’. Bullhorn Support will confirm the exact version number for you.
-
-
a desired date for each Org to be upgraded in the Sandbox Environment
-
a desired date for each Org to be upgraded in the Production Environment
-
This is optional for the Sandbox upgrade request, but helps the Bullhorn analyst understand the overall time line, allowing them to accommodate accordingly.
-
-
Alignment
-
Support reviews the Org Id(s), Version numbers and desired time lines.
-
Support reaches out to you to confirm or clarify any questions or concerns.
Sandbox Environment Upgrade & Client Sign-Off
-
On the agreed date (and, if required, time slot), the Bullhorn Support Team upgrades the Sandbox environment.
-
The Bullhorn team performs a smoke test and then requests you to confirm functionality.
Please let us know of any peculiarities in your environment so we can consider those in our testing. Items to consider are including, but not limited to, specific Validation Rules or Flows that prevent ‘normal’ Bullhorn package behavior.
-
Once the out-of-the-box functionality has been tested, the Bullhorn team will reach out to you to confirm the upgrade has been done, will (soft)close the cases, and request further testing on your side.
-
As the Bullhorn team can only test for the scope of the out-of-the-box product, any customizations on top of the product must be tested by you.
-
For a subsequent Production upgrade, a new Case can be raised.

Client Sign-Off
-
