Invenias Power BI FAQ
Welcome to the Invenias Power BI FAQ, where you'll find answers to common questions and helpful tips for using Invenias Power BI.
What’s the difference between Invenias Analytics and Power BI?
Invenias Analytics, powered by DevExpress’s DevExtreme dashboards, is built directly into Invenias for easy, instant use with no setup required. It provides quick insights through pre-built dashboards tailored for executive search needs.
Power BI, however, offers a more comprehensive and customizable solution. It allows for deeper analysis, custom reports, and the ability to integrate with a wide range of external data sources, making it ideal for users who need more flexibility and complex data capabilities.
How can I improve my Power BI skills?
To improve your Power BI skills, start with Microsoft’s free learning resources, including their learning portal. The Create and use analytics reports with Power BI course is a great starting point. Additionally, many businesses offer training and consultation services to help you master Power BI and make the most of your data analysis.
What custom default dashboards do I get?
Currently, there are no default dashboards available for the Invenias Power BI connector. However, we are actively working on developing custom dashboards and plan to make them available in the future.
Can I use the new views in the Excel add-in or Analytics dashboards?
Yes, you can query the new views in both the Excel add-in and Analytics dashboards.
The 10,000 row limit still applies when using the Excel add-in.
How can I request changes to the datasets?
To request changes to the datasets, such as adding new fields, please submit your feedback through the Invenias Ideas portal. You can log in by visiting https://ideas.invenias.com and entering your Invenias Subdomain to raise an idea for the product team to review.
How do I get the labels to show for a lookup list field?
To display text labels for most lookup list field types, such as Assignment Status, we’ve created separate views that include these labels.
The Assignments View contains a column for StatusID. To show the text label on a Power BI dashboard, you should also load the Assignment Status View to ensure the label appears.
