Enhanced Date Change Handling for Select Date-Based Automations

Automations

What Is New

Bullhorn Automation now correctly detects when a date field is updated on a record that is already active in certain date-based automations. For affected use cases, when a date change is detected, the system automatically repositions the record to the appropriate wait step based on the updated date, ensuring the automation schedule reflects the most current information.

Why It Matters

Date-based automations are a critical tool for managing time-sensitive outreach, and accuracy depends on the automation responding to the data as it actually exists. Previously, in a specific set of date-based automation scenarios, records remained locked to their original schedule when a key date changed mid-automation rather than adjusting to the new date. This fix enables those automations to respond dynamically to date changes, reducing the risk of mistimed outreach and helping teams stay aligned with the most relevant dates on each record.

How to Get Started

This improvement is available now and applies automatically to new date-based automations of the affected type going forward. Important note for existing automations: customers with impacted date-based automations already in place will need to pause and restart those automations in order for this behavior to take effect. To do so, navigate to your active date-based automations in Bullhorn Automation, pause each one, and restart it to apply the updated logic. If you have questions about whether your automations are affected or about this process, please reach out to your Bullhorn support contact for guidance.
