Edit External Notification
This workflow allows you to edit an external notification email template and/or select users who will receive a notification if the external notification fails.
-
From the Manage Notifications segment, click on the Notification Type that you want to edit.
-
The Notification page displays:
- Notification Type: Displays the notification type selected. This field may not be edited.
- Description: Brief explanation of workflow necessary to send the notification email. To edit this field, click the Editbutton, make your change and then click Save.
- Email Subject: The subject line of the email. This field can contain merge fields (see below for a list of merge fields). To edit this field, click the Edit button, make your change and then click Save.
- Active: Click the Active button to toggle the notification between active and inactive. A check in the checkbox indicates that the notification is active. Once activated, completing the workflow specified in the Notification Type field will cause emails to be sent to the external recipients.
- Copy Account Manager: Click the Copy Account Manager button to send a copy of the notification to the associated Account Manager. A check in the checkbox indicates that this option is on. If this option is on, a notification email will be sent to the Account Manager associated with the workflow indicated in the Notification Type field. Uncheck the box if you do not want an email sent to the Account Manager.
- Copy Recruiter: Click the Copy Recruiter button to toggle this option on or off. A check in the checkbox indicates that this option is on. If this option is on, a copy of the notification email will be sent to the Recruiter associated with the workflow indicated in the Notification Type field. Uncheck the box if you do not want an email sent to the Recruiter.
- Email Body: To edit the contents of the Email Body, click the Edit button. You can add merge fields to the body of the email. To get more information, including a link to all available merge fields, click
. You can also see below for a list of merge fields. (For more information, see Text Editor.) Once you have made your edits to the Email Body, click Save. - Alternate Notification Details: In some cases, you may want specific subject or body text depending on the branch associated with the notification. If so, click Addto add an alternate notification. The Add Alternate Notification page allows you to select the branches to which this specific alternate notification applies. After indicating the branches, you can then select the Subject and Body text you want to use if the selected branch is associated with the notification. You can edit existing alternate notifications by selecting the alternate notification and clickingEdit. You can delete an existing alternate notification by selecting the alternate notification and clicking Remove.
- Users to be Notified: This area contains a list of users who will be notified should the external notification fail due to a missing email address. To add a user to the list, click Add. To remove a user, select the user and then click Remove. You can also select a user and click Optional Criteria. This allows you to specify branches that the failed external notification must be associated with in order for this user to get a failure notification. For example, you may want one user to receive notification of a failed email if the candidate is from Branch A, but another user if the candidate is associated with Branch B.
Merge Fields
