End Date Integration Settings

Overview

This article contains information regarding the various End Date settings in the BBO / Onboarding Control Panel and how they affect placements pulling into the system via the ATS integration.

Settings

These settings can be found by accessing the Control Panel then selecting Integrations > ATS > Bullhorn.

Setting Field Options Description
Assignment.End Date Will Create if Ended

Drop Down:

Yes, No

When set to Yes, this will pull over placements from the ATS into BBO even if their end date is in the past.

  • Placements will still have to meet all other criteria to be brought over, including having the appropriate approved status.

When set to No, placements with an end date in the past will not pull over.

See the Troubleshooting section below for more information related to this setting.

Assignment.End Date: Will Update Num Days

Text Field:

Number

Placements will continue to sync and receive updates from the ATS after the placement has ended for the number of days set in the field.

The advantage of this is that if a placement was ended on accident, you have the set amount of days to correct it.

  • The default is 0 days, meaning the placement will not update after the end date.
  • Leaving this field blank means the placement will continue to receive updates forever.

See the Troubleshooting section below for more information related to this setting.

Assignment.End Now Statuses

Text Field:

Multiple values must be separated with a comma and no spaces.

Changing the status of the placement in the ATS to one of the statuses listed in this field will end the placement in BBO.

If there is no end date listed in the ATS, the placement will use the date the status was changed.

The statuses must be listed exactly as they appear in the ATS, including capitals and spaces.

Multiple values must be separated by a comma and no spaces.

Note: Changes to this setting may impact placements in your system:

  • If you remove an end now status from this list, any placement that was previously ended with that status will become active again.
  • If you have manually ended a placement in BBO prior to adding a new End Now status, those placements may become active when a new End Now status is added. As a best practice, it is recommended that ending placements be done in the ATS.

Assignment.Ignore End Date

Drop Down:

Yes, No

This determines if the end date field on placements in BBO will update based on the End Date on Placements in the ATS or not.

When set to No, if the placement in the ATS has an end date, the end date will populate the

End Placement field on the placement in BBO and check the End Placementbox. This will happen

even if that end date is in the future. In Back Office, the placement will still show as Active if the start date is in the past and the end date is in the future, future if the start and end dates are in the future, and past if the start and end dates are in the past. This will NOT affect time entry for candidates until after the end date has passed and then candidates will not be able to enter time for future months.

Yes - With this setup, BBO ignores the end date in the ATS (except to put it in

the Prospective End Date in BBO). Any end dates or changes to the end date in the ATS do not affect BBO at all and the only way placements get automatically marked as "Ended" in BBO is through the status update to Terminated/Completed in the ATS. The system then marks the end date of the placement as the day that status change happened in the ATS.

Assignment.Prospective End Date Text Field: ATS Mapping This will populate the Prospective End Date field on the placement record in BBO.

Troubleshooting

Conflicting End Date settings can cause problems ranging from end dates not pulling over from the ATS, placements not updating as expected, or placements not pulling over at all.
