GDPR - An Overview & Resource Links

Overview

This article contains an introduction to the GDPR and its impact on the Executive Search and Strategic Recruitment sector.

On 25th May 2018 new data privacy regulations came into force in Europe, requiring all organisations that handle the data of "People in the EU" to comply with a single set of rules in relation to data governance, regardless of where the organisation is located.

The introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) materially impacted the way in which data is stored, processed and shared. This has a significant impact on the working practices of all businesses handling any personal data. The implications of failing to comply with the changes are considerable and well documented. However, whilst meeting the requirements requires significant investment, we believe that the GDPR also presents opportunities for the Executive Search profession.

It includes two downloads at the bottom of the article. A detailed presentation on the core aspects of the GDPR and a "How to" guide on working towards Compliance.

This has been created to introduce some of the key features in the legislation, ahead of undertaking a process to create the required content for compliance, and then implementing your choice and settings and policies into Invenias.

These guidance materials should not be taken as a substitute for legal advice, but we hope they will provide a useful point of reference.
