Browser Troubleshooting Best Practices

Overview

Following best browser use practices helps ensure your Bullhorn ATS environment runs as smoothly as possible. This article covers steps you should take to resolve any cache issues.

All of the instructions below are based on Google Chrome, which is Bullhorn ATS's recommended browser.

Clear Secure Cookies

If you are not on Bullhorn ATS Novo, continue to the next section.

  1. Click on the lock icon in the address bar.
  2. Select Cookies and Site Data.
  3. Click Manage Cookies and Site Data.
  4. Click the trashcan next to all the listed domains.

Clear Cookies and Cache

This step will log you out of sites but will not clear saved passwords if you select the correct options below.

  1. Hold down the Ctrl+ShiftClosed In BH4SF, this is always used as job shift.+Delete keys in your browser to open the correct setting.
  2. Select All Time from the Time Range drop down.
  3. Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
    • Be sure that Passwords and other sign-in data is not selected.
  4. Click Clear Data.
  5. When this finishes, close all windows/tabs in your browser and re-open the browser.

Clear Bullhorn ATS Cookies and Cache Automatically

This step will add exceptions in Google Chrome to clear the cache upon exiting Bullhorn ATS. This does not negate the need to clear your browser’s cache regularly, however, it can be helpful when working with Bullhorn ATS.

  1. Click on the three dots on the top right of your browser window.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Privacy and security.
  4. Click on Site settings.
  5. Scroll down and select Additional content settings.
  6. Click On-device site data.
  7. Click on Add.
  8. Enter these Hostname Patterns: "[*.]bullhorn.com", and "[*.]bullhornstaffing.com".
    • Click on Add to save each pattern.

Clear Saved Passwords

This step will clear your saved passwords for Bullhorn ATS. If your browser contains older saved passwords when logging in, you may see a "Login could not be validated" message, and it may take multiple tries to log in, leading to cache issues.

  1. Click on the three dots on the top right of your browser window.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. On the left-hand side, select Autofill and passwords.
  4. Click Password Manager.
  5. Under Saved passwords, select any with a Bullhorn ATS address and remove them.
  6. When you log in next with your current password, you can save it.

Best Practices Moving Forward

To avoid cache issues, it is recommended to clear the cookies and cache in your browser at least once per week. Following the below login and logout practices will reduce the possibility of cache issues.

  1. Be sure to log in via www.bullhorn.com/client-login.
    • If you use a bookmark to log in, be sure that when you click it, you are directed to the above URL. If you are directed to a different URL, delete the bookmark and create a new one.
  2. Be sure that you are logging out of Bullhorn ATS correctly.
    • Rather than clicking the X to close the browser window or tab, click on your username in Bullhorn ATS and click Logout.
