Amplify Readiness Guide

Getting ready to go live with Amplify? Great news! The more prepared you are, the more value you’ll get from day one. Successful adoption depends on more than just switching on the tools. It’s about making sure your business goals, processes, automation setup, and data hygiene are all aligned and ready to support Amplify’s capabilities.

This article brings everything together in one place, so you know exactly what to review and prepare before your go-live. With this guide, you’ll be ready to launch Amplify with confidence and set yourself up for long-term success.

Business Readiness

Before you switch on Amplify, take time to align across the business. A shared vision and clear measures of success will make adoption smoother and results easier to track.

Key considerations include:

  • Define your vision and objectives: Agree on a company-wide vision and make sure leadership and teams agree on how AI will be used across your organization.

  • Set measurable goals: Decide which metrics you’ll use to track success, such as time-to-fill, candidate engagement, or redeployment rates.

  • Embrace change: Be ready to test, adapt, and iterate as you learn what works best for your workflows.

Process Readiness

Amplify is most effective when it fits naturally into your recruiting lifecycle. Mapping out your process will help you identify where each Amplify skill should be deployed.

Steps to take:

  • Document your recruiting lifecycle: Capture the end-to-end process for new new applicants on your website as well as standard requirements.

  • Identify Amplify touchpoints: Align on where Amplify features will add the most value in your workflow.

Automation Readiness

Amplify builds on your existing Automation Enterprise features. Having a solid automation foundation will make it easier to maximize Amplify’s impact.

Essential preparation

Make sure these essentials are covered, as they’ll give your team the foundation needed to get the most out of Amplify.

  • Automation expertise: Have an in-house Automation SME to manage and optimize workflows.

  • Live automations across entities: Make sure you already have automations running on candidates, jobs, submissions, contacts, and placements.

  • Core automation skills: Be comfortable with Update Step and Engagement Step automations, branching logic, and suppression lists.

  • Consistent data practices: Use standardized fields and values across job and candidate records so data points can be mirrored reliably.

    • Example:

      Job - Location: remote/onsite/hybrid

      Candidate - Open To: remote/onsite/hybrid

  • Website integration: Ensure jobs are published to your website directly from the ATS and applications flow into the ATS as submissions.

  • Voice screening support: Confirm your website allows microphone access for candidates to complete voice screening.

  • Training: Review relevant learning content ahead of kickoff.

Recommended Preparation

For customers who want a head start, additional familiarity with these features can help you move even faster:

Data Readiness

Amplify relies on a few key data points from your ATS. When those fields are accurate and up to date, Amplify can do its best work. You don’t need every single record in your database to be perfect before launch, but focusing on the right fields will make a big difference in the results you see.

Good data means great results, but don’t worry if your data isn’t perfect before go-live! Amplify includes tools to help you clean and enhance your records as you use the platform.

Fields Used By Amplify

The table below highlights the most important fields for Amplify. These are the ones we recommend keeping complete and accurate, since they power core features like Matching, Screening, Enrich, and Present.

  • These are standard fields. If you’re using custom fields instead of the standard ones, Amplify may not be able to use them and you may see less-than-ideal results.

  • In addition to the standard fields listed below, you can include any fields in your Amplify Present templates. Think about which fields you’d want to appear on common templates like cover letters or resumes — those fields should also be treated as essential for your data cleanup.

Customize for Your Use Cases

Amplify is highly customizable, and this article highlights the most common use cases we’ve seen drive customer success and ROI. If you have your own use cases in mind (especially if you’re planning to create custom prompts) think about which fields you’ll need for those workflows. Make sure that data is clean and accurate, and use the same methods in this article to keep those fields in great shape.

Ways to Clean Your Data

If you notice some of the fields listed above aren’t as clean as you’d like, don’t worry! There are plenty of ways to get things in shape. In fact, many customers use their Amplify go-live as a perfect opportunity to tidy up their data.

We’ve split our recommendations into two categories:

  • Without Amplify: Cleanup tools you can use right away in Bullhorn Automation and ATS to prepare your data for go-live.

  • With Amplify: Smart cleanup methods you can use once Amplify is enabled.

Cleaning Data Without Amplify

Automation Update Step

Use an automation with the Update Step to set, copy, or clear field values. This is especially helpful if:

  • You need to move data from one field to another (for example, transferring data from a custom field into a standard field used by Amplify).

  • You want to keep records up to date based on activity. For example, update placed candidates’ Position Title with the Job Title from the placement record so they’re easier to match with jobs in the future.

Automation Survey Engagement with Writeback

Send surveys to candidates or contacts to collect missing or out-of-date details (like updated addresses or resumes), and write those responses directly into their ATS records. This is a quick way and low-effort to freshen up location and contact info across your database.

There are lots of ways to use automation to clean and maintain your data over time. Check out Automation Use Cases: Data Hygiene for some of our favorite high-impact examples.

ATS Data Loader

Import or update data in bulk by uploading a CSV. This is perfect for updating specific fields across a batch of records all at once.

See How To Use Data Loader To Import Data for more information.

Re-Parse Resumes

Re-parse candidates’ resumes in the ATS to make sure their records reflect the most up-to-date information, such as contact details, work and education history, and skills.

You can re-parse resumes in a few ways:

  • From the candidate’s Files tab (by selecting Actions > Parse as Existing)

  • Using the drag-and-drop resume parser on the Bullhorn sidebar

  • By email, using the automatic resume parser

Cleaning Data With Amplify

Once Amplify is switched on, you’ll have even more options for tidying up data as part of your daily workflows:

Enrich Step

The Enrich step uses AI to generate content and write it directly into the field of your choice. You can create custom prompts to tailor the output to your exact needs, so the possibilities are nearly endless.

Here are a few ways to start using Enrich to improve your records while also cleaning up your data:

  • Generate candidate summaries: Automatically generate clear, professional candidate summaries based on their resumes or work history.

  • Create standout job descriptions: Create strong public job descriptions that look great to candidates and help generate better screening questions.

  • Fill in missing Candidate fields: Use details from the candidate’s resume, summary, or notes to automatically populate empty fields such as:

    • Position Title

    • Education or Work History

    • Last Company Name

  • Fill in missing Job fields: Use details from the job description to populate empty fields such as:

    • Benefits

    • Contract Duration
