Overview

Dashboards show data from source Reports as visual components, which can be charts, gauges, tables, metrics, or Visualforce pages. They help you visually understand changing business conditions, so you can make decisions based on the real-time data you have gathered with reports. Use dashboards to help you identify trends, sort out quantities, and measure the impact of your activities.

Build a Classic Dashboard

  1. Navigate to the Reports tab.
  2. Go to New DashboardClosed Use the dashboard to track membership growth, login trends, and members’ post and comment activity in Chatter..

  3. Select Dashboard Properties.

  4. Give the dashboard a Title.
  5. Type a Dashboard Unique Name
    • Note: Use the info icon for unique name guidelines.
  6. Click the Folder Save to dropdown to place the dashboard in a Folder. My Personal Dashboards is the default folder. To avoid exposing sensitive data to the wrong people, choose a folder visible only to the applicable users.
    • Note: If you are going to share your dashboard with other recruiters, change the running user of the dashboard to any one of the recruiters as they have a different license type. Doing this does not change the results of the dashboard, it makes it accessible to the recruiters.

Edit a Dashboard

  1. To customize a dashboard, navigate to the Dashboard tab and select Edit.

  2. Drag the component type you want from the Components tab onto your dashboard.

  3. Drag a report from the Data Sources tab onto the component you just dropped on the dashboard.

    • To edit an existing component, click the pencil. To remove a component, click the X.
    • To edit attributes component, click Edit Attributes on your dashboard component.
    • When adding a filter, the data source must contain the filter field or an equivalent. If it doesn't, the filter may not work.
