External Searcher Authorisation
All external search access configuration procedures are available here.
As noted in , an external searcher can be made available to all users using the Default field on the metadata record. More granular access can be managed through the Searcher Access Management component.
In example below, the component is configured to show User
, but it can also be used for Groups and Profiles.
This configuration is stored in the custom object Textkernel User Authentication.
This doesn't store user credentials, rather it stores the authorisation of a User/Group/Profile to use an external searcher.
The important fields within the Textkernel User Authentication object include:
- Group Id / Profile Id / User: represents the entity authorised to use the External Searcher
- Textkernel Searcher: The developer name of the custom metadata record (as above) representing the External Searcher
