Is
Right for You?has a few prerequisites that determine if its functionality is a good fit for your business. In order to fully utilize Time & Labor functionality you must use both Locations and Rate Cards.
Why do we have to use locations?
The
Rules Engine uses the state or province of a Placement’s Location to determine which rules to apply when time is interpreted.Without
enabled, Location only drives Sales Tax functionality. You may not be leveraging Location functionality if you don't have placements in states where they needed to charge sales tax, or if you use different client corps for different states in order to manage locations. However, you have to switch to utilizing Locations if you choose to enable .Why do we have to use Rate Cards?
uses Rate Cards to price hours by Earn Code. If you are not using Rate Cards at all, the Time & Labor Rules Engine will not be able to obtain rate information for hours in a timesheet.
In addition to Location and Rate Card requirements, Time & Labor may not be a good fit for your business if your processes involves the following:
- Extensive creation of manual Pay and Bill Transactions. The Engine cannot re-interpret Pay and Bill Transactions that have been created after a timesheet has been evaluated.
-
The majority of your clients rely heavily on disputing timesheets in
- can't currently process timesheets that have transactions that have been disputed by a client-contact. For more information, see Modifying Time.
- can process timesheets that have been rejected by a client-contact. Our current recommendation is to encourage your clients to use the Reject Hours process instead. For more information, see Rejecting Timesheets.
