ATS Settings Tab

The ATS Tab helps administrators control how Bullhorn Automation connects to their Applicant Tracking System. Use this tab to configure integration settings, trigger data syncs, and manage users imported from the ATS.

This ensures your automation workflows stay accurate and up to date across both systems.

The name of the tab reflects the ATS you're using (e.g., “Bullhorn”).

Common Reasons You Might Use the ATS Tab

  • Update which ATS features are enabled for your organization

  • Trigger an immediate sync instead of waiting for the standard sync interval

  • Confirm whether user status or ownership updates have synced

  • Review which users are active, inactive, or eligible for automation ownership

  • Troubleshoot missing data, delayed syncs, or unexpected owner assignments

  • Validate whether ATS user profiles include required information such as email address

Trigger an Immediate ATS Sync

This feature is available only for Bullhorn ATS clients.

Bullhorn Automation syncs with your ATS on a frequent, ongoing schedule. If you need the most up-to-date information sooner, you can select Sync Data Now to trigger an immediate refresh.

Start a Manual Sync

  1. Go to Automation Settings.

  2. Select the ATS Tab.

  3. Click [ATS Name] Integration Settings.

  4. Select Sync Bullhorn Data Now.

What Happens During a Manual Sync

  • Bullhorn Automation pulls all ATS updates since the last successful sync.

  • If a sync is already running, clicking the button again will not start a second sync.

  • You’ll receive an email confirmation only if the sync successfully initiates.

Data Included in the Sync

  • Edits to any ATS record

  • Changes to user profiles

  • Ownership updates

  • Status changes

  • Activity-based contact ownership (notes, submissions, placements, etc.)

  • Avoid clicking Sync Data Now multiple times in a short window.

  • If updates do not appear within 30 minutes, open a Bullhorn Support ticket.

Manage ATS Users in Bullhorn Automation

The ATS Tab displays all users imported from your ATS. These users can be used for owner assignment, notifications, and other automation features.

What You’ll See in the User List

Additional Tools

  • Search by Name to quickly filter users.

  • Include Inactive Users to view users marked inactive in the ATS.

  • Deactivate API users or any user accounts you do not want sending automated emails.

  • ATS users must have a valid email address in their ATS profile to sync with Automation.

Troubleshooting the ATS Tab

If a User Is Missing From Automation

Check if the ATS user profile contains a valid email address.

If Data Isn’t Syncing After 30 Minutes

Submit a Support ticket and include the approximate time of your last manual sync.

If Contact Ownership Looks Incorrect

Verify:

  • The user’s ATS status

  • Owner Assignment Rules

  • Recent activity assignments (notes, submissions, placements)

If Manual Sync Doesn’t Send a Confirmation

It may not have been initiated because a sync was already running.
