Deleting Lists in Bullhorn Automation

This article covers how to delete single and multiple lists in Bullhorn Automation, and explains when deletion is blocked to protect active automation workflows.

Delete a Single List

Do the following to delete a list:

  1. Go to the ListsClosed A collection of ATS records that meets specified criteria, such as a scheduled end date or a low NPS response. page.
  2. Find the list you want to delete and click Select Action.

Delete Multiple Lists

You can delete multiple lists at once by doing the following:

  1. Click the check box beside each list you want to delete.
  2. Click Select an Action at the top of the page under the Actions drop down.

When List Deletion Is Blocked

Bullhorn Automation protects active automation workflows from accidental data loss. When you attempt to delete an enrollment list tied to an active automation, the system evaluates whether that list is the sole record source for that automation.

  • Sole enrollment source: Deletion is blocked. A message displays identifying which automations rely on the list. Remove the list from those automations or deactivate them before deleting.
  • One of multiple enrollment sources: Deletion proceeds. The automation stays active and automatically re-evaluates enrollment to remove any records that matched only through the deleted list.

This protection is automatic and applies to all enrollment list deletions. No configuration is required.

Troubleshooting

Why can't I delete this list?

The list is the only enrollment source for one or more active automations. Deleting it would leave those automations with no records to process. The system blocks deletion and displays the names of the affected automations. To proceed, either add another enrollment list to those automations, or deactivate them before deleting the list.
