Automatically Closing Jobs Upon Placement

Learn how to have Bullhorn automatically close a job once it's filled, instead of closing it manually every time.

Setting Jobs to Close Automatically Upon Placement

  1. Go to Menu > System Settings.

  2. Search for autoCloseJobOnPlacement.

  3. Enter "TRUE" in the Value field.

  4. Click Save Changes.

You may still need to close a job manually — for example, if your client cancels the job or you lose it to a competitor.

What Happens When a Job Closes

Closing a job, whether automatically or manually, removes it from your career portal — but not from job boards or social media.

  • To remove a job from a job board, go to the publishing page.

  • To remove a related social media post, delete it directly from that social media site.
