Page Interactions

Page Interactions allow you to customize how the Bullhorn interface is displayed within records. Using Page Interactions, you can hide, disable, restyle, or relabel UI elements such as tabs, actions, overview fields, and workflow icons based on your organization's needs. Page Interactions are also supported in the Bullhorn mobile app, with some limitations.

Accessing Page Interactions

Field interactions are managed within the Interactions Manager.

1. At the left of the screen, select Menu.

2. Select Admin > Page Interactions.
   

How Page Interactions Work

Page Interactions target defined locations within a record page and control how UI elements at those locations are displayed or behave. A single Page Interaction can hide an element entirely, disable it, update its label, apply a custom style, or trigger an action at a specific point in the save workflow.

Examples of Page Interactions

Some examples of ways you can use Page Interactions include:

• Controlling tab visibility

  Example: Hiding the Notes tab on a Candidate record for certain user types, or marking a tab as disabled when a record is in a specific status.

• Customizing actions

  Example: Relabeling or hiding action buttons on a record page based on the record's current status or the user's user type.

• Modifying overview fields

  Example: Changing the display data or label for a field on the record overview, or hiding a field from the overview for specific user types.

• Triggering post-save workflows

  Example: Automatically opening the Add Task dialog after a job record is saved, ensuring users are prompted to schedule a follow-up action.

Mobile App Support

Many Page Interactions are supported in the Bullhorn mobile app, however, due to UI differences, not all are supported.

The following interaction types are supported on mobile:

• Modify Actions

• Modify Overview Fields

• Modify Record Activity Sections

• Add Edit Presave

• Add Edit Postsave

The following interaction types are not supported on mobile:

• Modify Tabs

• Modify Workflow Icons

• Modify Workflow Section

For Address field validation: Using form.controls.address.value.* only works on desktop and errors in mobile. For the script to work on both desktop and mobile, developers should change the tag to form.data.address.*

Be sure to test any interactions thoroughly on mobile before announcing them to users. Interactions that rely on unsupported types will not execute in the Bullhorn mobile app.
