Admin: Enable Power Notes Subject Configurability

  1. Navigate to Setup > Custom Metadata Types.
  2. Next to Power Notes Supported Objects, click Manage Records.
  3. Click one of the objects you are creating a Power Note from. For example, Account.
    • The below steps must be completed for each existing record that corresponds to the object(s) your Power Note can be created from.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Tick the Use Subjects Configuration checkbox.
    • If you don't see this checkbox, you will need to add it to the page layout. You will only need to add the checkbox during your first configuration using the steps in Power Notes Subjects page layout.
  6. Click Save.

Repeat the above steps for all existing records that correspond to the objects your Power Note can be created from.

Enabling the Use Subjects Configuration results in Power Notes subjects being entirely dependent on the new PowerNotes Subject Configurability logic. Once this is enabled, the full configuration must be completed or users will receive errors when trying to use Power Notes.
