Reporting & Reconciliation Best Practices

Bullhorn One allows you to run a better business with margin, activity, and financial data at your fingertips. Use the following best practices to get started customizing and understanding reporting for your unique situations.

  • Canvas Reporting is a customizable reporting tool available out-of-the-box for all Bullhorn One customers.
    • Different permissions are needed to run and build Canvas reports. Ensure you have the correct permissions needed for your role.
    • See Bullhorn Canvas Resources to learn the basics on building and understand reporting as a whole.
    • There are specific Pay & Bill Canvas Reports. Familiarize yourself with the options and know when to use each report for the data you need.
Top Reporting Tip: Familiarize yourself with the frequently used terminology in these reports using our Terminology Alignment: Gross Profit and Gross Margin resource.
    • Ensure you have a cadence set up for regularly used reports.
  • Tearsheets can be a valuable reporting tool. They are customizable list views that display info about various records in Bullhorn. They can contain leads, candidates, contacts, jobs, or opportunities and are often used for mass actions like email campaigns or reporting.
  • Dashboards can be used for various roles to organize data in a snapshot before running heftier reports.
  • Bullhorn Time & Expense (BTE) hosts a range of reports in their UI. If you are a Pay / Bill Admin, familiarize yourself with the BTE reporting capabilities.
    • Additionally, client approvers can be set up with limited access to reports via the Approver Application. Ensure your clients have the appropriate reporting access to fit their needs.
  • Know which add-on reporting tools, if any, your agency uses. For example, Bullhorn Analytics is an add-on tool that has additional reporting features like gamified leaderboards and job pipelines that help you visualize your business even more clearly.
