Plain Text Emails vs HTML Emails

Bullhorn Automation gives you the flexibility to choose between plain text and rich text emails, each suited to different communication purposes. Whether you’re sending a simple, personalized message or a visually engaging email, this article outlines the key differences to help you decide which format best fits your needs.

Plain Text Emails

Plain text emails are simple, unformatted messages that resemble what you’d send from your personal email account. They focus on delivering clear and concise information without additional design elements.

Key Features:

  • Easy to read and universally supported by all email clients.
  • Often perceived as more personal and authentic.
  • Ideal for direct, conversational messages.

HTML (Drag and Drop) Emails

HTML emails allow for a more dynamic design experience with Bullhorn Automation’s drag-and-drop functionality. You can incorporate elements like images, buttons, and formatting to create visually appealing emails.

Key Features:

  • Enables customization with images, links, and styled text.
  • Useful for marketing campaigns or announcements requiring visual engagement.
  • Offers a polished and professional look.

Choosing the Right Format

The best format depends on the purpose of your email:

Use Plain Text When:

  • The message is personal or conversational.
  • You’re delivering direct, actionable information.
  • Simplicity and authenticity are priorities.

Use Rich Text When:

  • You want to include branding elements, images, or structured layouts.
  • The goal is to visually engage the recipient.
  • The communication requires a polished or professional design.

Test for Optimal Results

Bullhorn Automation’s A/B Testing Feature makes it easy to experiment with both plain text and rich text formats. Test your emails to see which style resonates best with your audience based on the purpose and context of the communication.

Both plain text and rich text emails have their place in Bullhorn Automation. By understanding the strengths of each format and aligning them with your communication goals, you can deliver impactful messages tailored to your audience.
