Entities and Lists

Available Entities

When creating lists, you will target one of six entities. The type of entity you target determines the records your list will display. The available entities and their associated fields include:

Selecting Entities

Consider what you want to achieve with your automation as you select entities for your lists.

If you want to build an automation that sends emails to candidates based in a particular state, you would need to create a list based on the candidate entity. You would then set the list to filter candidate records based on the state they reside in.

Some entities include additional options for which records a list will show. Submission and placement-based lists can be pointed to Candidates or Sales Contacts. For job-based lists, you can choose between targeting the Job record only or targeting the main Sales Contact on that Job record.

Choosing the entity may be difficult depending on your use case. For example, if you plan to build an automation that will email a candidate with specific details about their submission, you’ll need to build a Submission-based list with a Submission-based automation. Since there are cases where a candidate can have more than one submission, they will receive an email for each unique Submission record.
