I-9 Authorized Representative SMS Notification
When sending the Onboarding request, recruiters are able to select a workflow for who is responsible for completing Section 2 of the I-9 Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. form. If the recruiter selects Applicant (or Candidate or Talent) Customer talent - the person applying or hired for the job Assigned, the applicant will be responsible for assigning their own authorized representative as part of the Section 1 process. When this option is selected, an additional section will be added to the bottom of the I-9 Section 1 form where the employee is required to provide the name of their authorized representative as well as either their email address or mobile phone number.
If a mobile phone number is provided, the authorized representative will receive an SMS message requesting they complete Section 2 of the candidate’s I-9.
Full Name and Mobile Phone Number are checked against the information provided by the candidate in Section 1. This prevents candidates from being able to assign themselves as an authorized representative. If either the name or mobile phone number match that of the candidate, an error will be presented and the candidate cannot continue.
Employees cannot act as authorized representatives for their own Form Any document that needs to be completed and signed by a Candidate I-9. Therefore, employees cannot complete, update or make corrections to Section 2 or 3 for themselves or attest to the authenticity of the documentation they present.
