Field Unique Identifiers
Each field on a form must be assigned a completely unique identifier in the Short Description field. This is how the field will display when mapping the fields into the PDF form. It is also the field that will be used to map to ATS Field Mappings. For that reason, it is important to name the fields using a standardized, logical approach. Special characters cannot be used as part of the unique identifier with the exception of an underscore. Once a field is created, the Unique Identifier cannot be changed.
Unique Identifiers must be completely unique within an account and cannot be duplicated or used on other forms.
Unique Identifier Labeling Tips and Tricks
- Label field unique identifiers using the following naming convention: Form Any document that needs to be completed and signed by a Candidate initials_Field name.
Example: If a direct deposit form asks for bank name, call the field “dd_ bank name”
- Limit the amount of text entered in the unique identifier.
- After labeling the field, will automatically append the clientid to the field name.
- If you include the word “date” in the field’s unique identifier, the form builder will automatically format it as YYYY/MM/DD; as a workaround, use “d8” in its place.
