Credentials Emails Tab: Troubleshooting & Use Cases
The Emails tab in VMS Sync Credentials shows the email address where VMS Sync sends and receives vendor communications and corresponding email activity. VMS Sync updates almost all VMS credentials emails to xxx+xxxxx@fyresync.com, but you can add multiple addresses separated by commas if needed. Understanding this tab helps you diagnose why credentials aren't activating, password resets aren't landing, or MFA tokens aren't being managed.
Account Activation Failures
The Credential status changes to "Pending" while VMS Sync awaits email confirmation, then to "Active" when it receives the forwarded email. If activation is stuck on Pending, check the email address shown here first.
Confirm the email matches what the VMS is actually sending to. If you didn't receive the VMS Sync Credential Activation email, contact Bullhorn Support. If the VMS doesn't allow Bullhorn to update the email directly, you must forward the VMS generated emails to an alternate address so that Bullhorn can process them.
Password Resets & Notification Management
If you still need to receive VMS generated emails, you can add your email to the Notifications field on the VMS Sync Credential page by adding a comma between multiple addresses. This is where password reset and security notifications will arrive.
MFA Token Lifecycle
The email address in this tab receives token expiration and retirement notifications.
Troubleshooting Missing Emails
If the email tab shows an address, but notifications aren't arriving, check that the VMS is actually sending to it. You can confirm the VMS Sync specific email by looking at the Credential Email field on the Credential Details page; it will usually be [inboxPrefix]+[CredentialID]@fyresync.com. If emails aren't flowing, set up a forwarding rule or confirm the VMS is sending directly to that address.
