Amplify Screening Enablement Testing

Use the steps below to test your Amplify Screening setup and ensure it works correctly before going live. This process walks you through creating test records, running the automations, and verifying the candidate experience from start to finish.

Ensure you use test records for this process. A successful test will log screening activity against the records you use, so avoid using live records.

1. Create a Test Candidate

Set up a test candidate record using realistic information. Make sure the following fields are populated:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Resume (description): Ensure the resume text is in the Resume (description) field, not a file attachment

  • Email Address: This is where the Invite to Screen email will be sent.

  • Phone Number: This is where the Invite to Screen SMS will be sent.

2. Create a Test Job

Set up a job record with realistic information. Make sure the following fields are populated:

  • Title

  • Published Description: This must be the field you configured as the source for the job description in Amplify Screening.

3. Generate Screening Questions

  1. Open the "BH Screening Agent – Generate Screening Questions" blueprint that will include the Add Questions step.

  2. Update the enrollment list criteria to the ATS ID of your test job so that only this job runs through the automation.

    This step is important as it prevents real records from being processed while you’re testing.

  3. Run your test job through the job-based automation.

  4. Confirm that the automation adds questions to the "Screening Questions" tab on the job.

4. Create a Test Submission

Submit your test candidate to your test job. This submission will be used to test the screening invite and process.

5. Send a Screening Invite

Before following these steps, you may need to allow time for your test candidate and submission to sync and appear in the Send Test drop down.

  1. Open the automation that sends screening invites.

    • If you don't have this automation yet, you can use the "BH Screening Agent - Invite to Screen" blueprint to create one quickly.

  2. Click on the Send Engagement step to open the Email Builder.

  3. Click Send Test.

  4. Fill in the details:

    • Recipient Email: Enter your email.

    • Which submission would you like to use to fill merge tags?: Enter the name of your test candidate and select the submission for the test job.

  5. Verify that:

    • The Invite to Screen email is received.

    • The screening engagement works as expected.

If your test job record doesn't have screening questions generated, the web screener will fail to load.

Do not rely on the Test Screener engagement function for this process. These features use random records from the Automation database, which may not contain the data needed to reflect the real applicant experience.
