Troubleshooting Emails that Arrive to the Recipients Spam/Junk Folder

Overview

Bullhorn ATS has the ability to send emails on your behalf but not all recipients accept emails that are sent on your behalf unless you have given the sending company (i.e. Bullhorn ATS) permission to do so.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I give permission for Bullhorn ATS to send emails for me?

You must update the Sender Policy Framework for your email domain. If this sounds a little above your head, don't worry, we've got more specific documentation that you can send to your IT support. Just forward on SPF Records and Sending Email from Bullhorn and they should be able to take care of the issue for you.

Are there any other reasons my emails are going to spam?

While SPF records are a very common reason there is the fact that any recipient can mark emails as spam or declare your domain as one that sends spam. You should ensure your emails are not construed as spam and if a recipient marks your email as spam, you will need to contact the recipient to have them remove the mark.

I've been told my domain is blocked. What do I do?

If you send out a large volume of email, you may end up on being blocked which means that some third party companies have determined it is likely that you are a spammer. If you are told you have been blocked, you will need to contact the respective third party company and appeal to be removed. Your email domain support may be able to assist you with this.
