Data Loader App

The Data Loader App is a free, open-source tool that lets you quickly add or update large numbers of records in Bullhorn, such as thousands of candidates or jobs, using a spreadsheet.

The Data Loader App is not available for Bullhorn ATS Growth.

Is the Data Loader App Right for You?

The Data Loader App works best when you need to import or update a few thousand records and have someone on your team with technical experience. Because it can change a lot of data at once, any mistakes can affect many records.

Updates, additions, and deletions made with the Data Loader App apply to your live Bullhorn data. If records are changed in error, you will need to correct them yourself or work with Bullhorn Professional Services, which is a billable service.

Getting Access

  1. Contact Bullhorn Support and request access to the Data Loader App.
  2. Support will ask you to confirm by email that you understand the risks of making large-scale changes to your data.
  3. Support will set up the credentials you need and send them to you, along with instructions for signing in.

When you sign in to the app for the first time, you will also receive a best practices guide. Full documentation is available on GitHub.

Review Your Results

After a data load, click View > Results in the app to see a log of your recent loads, including what succeeded, what failed, and which field values changed. This can help you find and correct any errors.

Troubleshooting

Why do I see a "Login Failed" error when signing in?

First, confirm that your username, password, Client ID, and Client Secret are correct. If they are, contact Bullhorn Support. They will check your Data Loader App credentials and update them if needed.

Why is the app stuck on the Map Columns screen?

If the app shows "Getting latest clientcorporation map settings" and does not move forward, contact Bullhorn Support. Include your Data Loader App version number.

I have errors when uploading data or questions about mapping my columns. Who can help?

Contact Bullhorn Support. Support will review your file and mapping with you.

I made a change in error. Can it be undone?

Use View > Results in the app to see what changed, then correct the records yourself. If you cannot, Bullhorn Professional Services can help restore your data for a fee.
