Employee Portal System Settings

The Employee Portal is where active candidates and employees access their profiles, update information, view pay and benefits, and complete ongoing tasks. These settings allow you to control the visibility and functionality of various self-service features within the portal.

Profile and Contact Information

Disable Profile Update

What it Does

Prevents employees from editing their name, address, or contact information.

Use Case

When changes must be made by internal staff to ensure accuracy or compliance.

Effect

Disables editing in the Basic Information section.

Enable Edit Applicant’s Name (Deprecated)

What it Does

Previously allowed name changes from the dashboard.

This functionality is no longer in use and should not be enabled.

Pay and Financial Settings

Disable Pay Options Tab

What it Does

Removes the "Pay Options" tab from the portal navigation.

Use Case

For clients managing banking details outside of the Talent Platform.

Effect

Candidates cannot view or update pay-related settings.

This needs to be enabled for all clients

Disable Pay Options Update

What it Does

Prevents employees from changing their direct deposit or payment method details.

Dependency

Only applicable if the Pay Options tab is visible.

This should be enabled for all clients

Disable Pay History Tab

This needs to be enabled for all clients

Disable W2 History Tab

Disable Skills Checklists Quick Set

Auto-Redirect to Next Task

Automatically navigates the employee to their next task after one is completed.

This should be enabled for all clients

Security and Restrictions

Maximum Inactivity Timeout

What it Does

Sets how long an employee can remain inactive before being automatically logged out (default is 15 minutes).

Restrict Completed eDoc Downloading

What it Does

Prevents employees from downloading previously signed eDocuments outside of the session in which they were completed.

Use Case

Adds a layer of compliance for sensitive document handling.

This configuration will allow candidates to download their documents once completed but as soon as the candidate signs out, the candidate will not be able to download those completed forms within the portal

  • Hide unused tabs. A simpler interface leads to higher completion rates and fewer questions.

  • Use Employee Resources to reduce support tickets. Link to documentation, policies, or help centers.

  • Ensure contact and pay settings align with internal controls. Disable edits if updates must go through payroll or HR teams.
