CV / Resume Workbench Typical Use Cases
There are three stages of a Candidate Lifecycle, which heavily involve the CV:
-
Sourcing
-
Interviewing
-
Presentation
CV / Resume Workbench is used in all three phases.
Sourcing
In sourcing, the recruiter will:
-
Review, validate, and correct information parsed from a CV.
-
Enhance the ATS record with data from other sources, such as LinkedIn.
-
Estimate the level of skills of the candidate based on their self-assessment.
-
Highlight and comment on CV content to call out and clarify relevant information.
Interviewing
Several rounds of interviewing may take place from the initial phone screen in sourcing through the final rounds before the hiring manager makes a decision. CV / Resume Workbench includes tools that assist with the in-house interviews by the recruiting firm:
-
Further skilling the candidate.
-
Highlight and comment on CV content.
Presentation
Presentation is the process of packaging up the information associated with a given candidate for consumption by a third party. This may include:
-
Internal recruiters in a corporate talent management group presenting to a hiring manager.
-
Contingent Recruiting agencies shopping several candidates to a prospective set of clients.
-
Retained executive search firm presenting a candidate to their client.
The CV plays a central role in all of these cases, but may appear quite different in each.
For inside recruiters, the CV may be presented as is, with some informal introductory remarks and all the comments and notes from the initial screening.
In the contingent staffing company case, all identifying information should be redacted from the CV to prevent a backdoor hire. In addition, the agency's brand and the recruiters contact information should be added to enable the client to respond if they want to learn more.
In the retained executive search scenario, the CV may be completely transformed into a house-specific format with great attention to the aesthetic details of the format.
In addition to the features presented above, CV / Resume Workbench provides the following features that are used to create presentations:
-
Redaction tool to erase content from the CV.
-
Text overlay tool to make minor edits on top of the existing CV.
-
Template and Image tools that enable the insertion of branded headers, footers, and images on the CV.
