Troubleshooting Steps
-
The number one issue we see is missing quotations around "https://api.herefish.com". If you received your tracking script through an email, it could be why your tracking script had missing quotations. We have noticed that some email service providers (for example Outlook) will remove the surrounding quotations. In order for the tracking to work, the script has to be added to your website's header exactly how it is shown in your Bullhorn Automation settings Website Integration area.
-
Check to see how your website domain is entered in your Bullhorn Automation settings. Does your website have www before your website domain? If not, make sure that your website domain in the Bullhorn Automation website tracking area does not have www either.
-
Your website security settings could be blocking Bullhorn Automation from tracking. We would recommend reaching out to your website administrator and have them add the “herefish.com” domain and associated sub-domains to your allowlist of trusted domains.
-
Make sure the Bullhorn Automation script is the first script added to your website header. The reason for this is that if other scripts run before the Bullhorn Automation script, they can block it from tracking correctly.
FAQ
Can I track more than one website per event in the Website Integration area?
Yes. While Bullhorn Automation is built to track only one website per event by default, we offer the option of tracking multiple websites per event through utilizing a Regex formula.
You can base the Regex formula off a Page View or Click spanning across multiple websites per event. We provide this as an option your team can use however if you're not familiar with Regex or Regex formulas, we suggest you work with your web developer or a Regex expert to utilize this feature. They'd need to provide a Regex formula to track the unique Bullhorn Automation event across your multiple websites.
Bullhorn Automation also provides a “Test Web Page” option in this area, that can be useful to see if the event is tracking after the formula was inserted and saved.
Bullhorn Automation Support will not be able to determine whether a Regex formula is working effectively against an event.
I have multiple instances. Can I have more than one Bullhorn Automation script on my website?
No, if you were to add two Bullhorn Automation scripts to your website header, it will not be able to track the activities. If you have two instances, you will need to add the Bullhorn Automation script to two different pages on your website. For example, you can add Instance A's Bullhorn Automation script to your "Home" page and then add Instance B’s Bullhorn Automation script to your "About" page.
