Adding a Chat to Your Website

This guide walks you through how to set a default Chatbot engagement that automatically appears for candidates, clients, or new visitors on your website.

Steps 1: Create Your Chat

Start by building the chat engagement you’d like to use. Not sure how? Follow the steps here: Creating a Chat.

Add your desired questions, branching, and flows to customize the experience. See Types of Chat Questions for a list of available steps.

Step 2: Set it as a Default Chat

To make your chat the default for certain visitors to your website, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Company Settings.

    • You must be an Admin to access Company Settings.

  2. In the Engagement Branding section, click Edit.

  3. Choose the default chat you'd like to set:

    • Default Candidate Chat: The chat will be shown to candidates that navigate to your website on their own (not from an email or text message) and are known by Bullhorn Automation.

    • Default Sales Contact Chat: The chat will be shown to sales contacts that navigate to your website on their own (not from an email or text message) and are known by Bullhorn Automation.

    • Default New Visitor Chat: The chat that will be shown to visitors that navigate to your website and are unknown to Bullhorn Automation, or are accessing your site from a different device.

  4. Use the dropdown to select the chat engagement you've created.

  5. Click Save.

For your default chat to work correctly, Website Tracking must be set up in Bullhorn Automation. For help setting it up, see Website Tracking.
