Configure Localizations in Talent Platform

Talent Platform supports localized candidate experiences in the ProfileClosed The Applicant’s self-service ability to add or update information about themselves (e.g., job preferences, references, education, work history) application, displaying the UI in the candidate's preferred language as they navigate onboarding materials. The system currently supports English, Spanish, and French. A default language can be set at the branch or location level, and candidates can override this selection from within the application.

LocalizationClosed The ability for the Applicant to select from multiple languages (currently US and UK English, Canadian French, and US Spanish only) applies to the application interface only, forms and documents remain in their original language.

Common Reasons You Might Configure Localizations

  • You serve candidates who prefer Spanish or French over English.

  • You want to set a default language for specific office locations or branches.

  • You need to customize translated content to match your company's terminology.

  • A candidate reported that Profile content is displaying in the wrong language.

  • You want to activate or deactivate a supported language for your organization.

What Candidates See

When multi-language support is enabled, candidates see a language selector button in the top-right corner of the Profile header bar. They can switch languages at any time, and all Profile content updates immediately.

To select a language:

  1. Log in to Profile.

  2. Click the Language Selector button in the top bar.

  3. Choose the preferred language from the available options.

  4. Profile content updates immediately to reflect the selected language.

Enable Multi-Language Support

Before candidates can select a language, an administrator must enable the feature and activate the desired languages.

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Settings > System Settings > Online Application.

  2. Toggle Enable Multi-Language Support to On.

  3. Go to Configuration > Settings > Translations.

  4. Select the language you want to activate (for example, Spanish).

  5. Ensure the language is marked as Active.

  6. Repeat steps 4–5 for each language you want to make available to candidates.

Configure Location-Specific Languages

You can assign available and default languages at the branch or location level. This is especially useful when specific locations serve candidate pools that prefer a language other than English.

  1. Log in to Talent Platform as an administrator.

  2. Navigate to Configuration > Settings > System Settings > Online Application and confirm Enable Multi-Language Support is toggled On.

  3. Go to Configuration > Settings > Translations.

  4. From the Language Selector, choose the language you want to configure (for example, Spanish).

  5. To set the language as available at specific locations, click Manage Locations.

  6. Select the locations where this language should be available, then click Save.

  7. To set the language as the default at specific locations, click Manage Defaults.

  8. Select the locations where this language should be the default, then click Save.

When candidates at those locations log in to Profile, they will see the configured default language and can switch to any other available language from the language selector.

Edit Translated Content

You can customize the default translations to match your company's terminology or messaging. Translations are organized by key, and any changes you make override the system defaults for your organization only.

  1. Go to Configuration > Settings > Translations.

  2. Locate the translation you want to update by searching for its key.

  3. Enter your custom text in the Custom Value field.

  4. Click outside the Custom Value field to save automatically.

Translations are cached to ensure fast performance. Every time you update a translation, the cache refreshes automatically, so candidates always see the most current content.

Warning: If you click on a custom translations value field and leave the field empty, it will display a blank translation on the candidate’s profile

Troubleshooting

If a candidate does not see the language selector

Check that Enable Multi-Language Support is toggled to On in Configuration > Settings > System Settings > Online Application. Also confirm that at least one language other than English is marked as Active in the Translations settings.

If translated UI is not updating after a change

Translations are cached for performance. Changes should take effect immediately after saving, but if content appears stale, have the candidate clear their browser cache or try accessing Profile in a private/incognito browser window.

If a specific location is not showing the correct default language

Verify that the intended default language has been configured using the Manage Defaults button for that specific location. If it was recently changed, confirm the setting saved successfully by revisiting Configuration > Settings > Translations and checking the location assignments.

If you cannot find the translation key you need to update

The translation list can be extensive. Use the search function at the top right to find the key.
