As a company that is based in or that places temporary workers in the UK, you're required to follow the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) that give temporary workers the right to equal treatment as a comparable permanent employee. By using the Bullhorn AWR automation, you can help ensure your company's compliance with these regulations.
You use the AWR automation to record information on the company record about temporary worker rights available on the first day of the assignment (e.g., access to canteen, collective facilities, childcare, and job vacancies) and further rights they receive after 12 consecutive weeks of employment (e.g., annual leave, pay, and rest breaks). When a company record contains AWR information, Bullhorn calculates the length of every temporary job for that company to see if the duration lasts 12 weeks or more. If the temporary job is scheduled to last at least 12 weeks, Bullhorn creates reminders for the job owner so the user remembers to communicate the AWR information on time.
Bullhorn creates two types of reminders once the job enters the 10th week of employment:
- A "Compliance Required" message appears on the Overview tab of the job record. This is a visual cue to communicate the AWR information for this job to the candidate placed in this position. This message displays until the user adds a note to the candidate's record that references the job and contains the note type of AWR Compliance Met.
- A task is created for the job owner reminding them that they have a placement that lasts 12 or more weeks. The task repeats until a user adds a note to the candidate's record that references the job and contains the note type of AWR Compliance Met.
