Understanding Corporations and Private Labels

Overview

Corporations and Private Labels are used to define the structure and workflow of your organization. This article outlines how Corporations and Private Labels are typically used.

Understanding Corporations

Corporations represent the parent level of an organization. All data within a Corporation is completely restricted to that Corporation. If a company had two Corporations, each is treated as separate company in Bullhorn with no data crossover.

  • Most companies have an organizational structure that uses one corporation within the Bullhorn application. Enterprise-class firms with multiple operating divisions occasionally use additional corporations to define various levels of access to data.

Understanding Private Labels

Private labels are always tied to a Corporation and control the user interface. A company with multiple divisions or locations, each with significantly different workflows , may need multiple private labels. Private labels do not restrict a user's access to data, but changes their interaction or workflow with the data.

If you are on Bullhorn's Enterprise edition, you may be given access to multiple Private Labels. In this case, a drop-down appears in the upper-right corner of the Bullhorn screen that allows you to toggle between the different interfaces. You can add or remove users from your Private Labels, but only Bullhorn Support can create a new private label for you.

Adding a New Private Label (Enterprise Edition Only)

You may want to add a new private label if you staff for two different types of business. For example, if you staff for IT and Healthcare, each line of business can see Bullhorn in a way that reflects how they staff, as shown in the example below:
