Embed Videos in Forms

Providing visual content like training videos helps Candidates complete quizzes and forms more effectively. By embedding published videos from sites like YouTube or Vimeo directly into your forms, you ensure Candidates have the necessary context. This process is simple once you retrieve the video's specific embed code.

Common Reasons You Might Embed a Video

Placing published videos directly into your forms or quizzes provides instant guidance for Candidates. Common scenarios include:

  • You need Candidates to watch a safety training video before taking an associated safety quiz.

  • You want to provide instructional content immediately before asking Candidates assessment questions.

  • You are using videos that are published but restricted for internal use only (not fully public).

  • You need to display a visual demonstration related to the steps or required actions within the form.

Retrieve the Embed Code for a Published Video

Before adding the video to your form, you must obtain the embed code from the video hosting platform. This code, which includes the necessary iframe SRC information, allows the Talent Platform form to properly display the content. The video must be published by the hosting platform (such as YouTube or Vimeo) to generate a functional embed code.

Follow these steps to locate the embed code on common video platforms:

  1. Navigate to your published video on the hosting site (e.g., YouTube or Vimeo).

  2. Look for the Share option related to the video.

  3. Select the option to Copy the embed code.

  4. Ensure the video is published.

    • Even if the video is intended for internal use only, it must have a published status to generate a valid embed code.

Add the Embedded Video Field to Your Form

Once you have the iframe SRC embed code, you can use the form builder in the Talent Platform to add the video directly to your form. The embedded video will then display within the form content when the Candidate opens it.

Use the form builder tool to create the embedded video field.

  1. Open the form where you want to include the video.

  2. In the form setup click Ad Form FieldClosed Any piece of information on a Form that the Candidate can fill out

  3. From the field type drop-down select Embedded Video.

  4. Paste the iframe SRC code (the embed code) into the Question field.

    • The structure will utilize the iframe SRC and closing tags provided by the host.

  5. Configure any associated questions, as the embedded video field often functions as a visual component within a question or quiz.

Add the Field in the PDF Editor

After creating the form it is added as any other field in the PDF Editor.
