Jobscience Email Service Options and Limits

Overview

Jobscience Mail is designed to work with two mail service providers:

Salesforce.com Standard Service
MailGun

The available features and limits depending on the service you use.

Salesforce Standard Service

Salesforce email is included with your Jobscience licenses at no extra cost. Salesforce can send both one-off (single) emails, as well as mass mail within the following limits:

You can specify up to 100 recipients in the "To" field and up to 25 recipients in the "Bcc" field for single emails.
You can send up to 5,000 messages a day to external email addresses.
Messages sent to your users and to portal users from their user address do not count against the daily limit.

Note that the 5,000 message limit is across all users during a 24 hour day, where the day is defined as 0:00 GMT to 23:59 GMT, irrespective of which instance your company is running.

MailGun

MailGun is a mass mail tool hosted outside of Jobscience. Use of MailGun requires that you create an account with them and configure it within your Jobscience setup. MailGun provides support for much higher volumes than a standard mail service.

You can specify up to 6,000 recipients in the "To" field.
There is no daily limit of messages from MailGun.

While there are no daily limits imposed by MailGun, there is a practical limit in the form of a daily transaction limit from Salesforce. This limit should not be a factor for most applications.

Multiple Domains

Enable the use of multiple domains so that emails appear to be sent from the domain of the user sending the email or from the domain of the "On Behalf of" user if sent on another's behalf.

Go to Setup > Develop > Custom Settings.
The Custom Settings screen is displayed.
Click Manage to the left of the MailGun Config label.
Click the New button and fill in the user's Domain Name and API Key information.
Select the Send On Behalf Of checkbox.
Repeat for each additional user.
