Transitioning from Amplify V1 to V2: How to Recreate Your Screeners and Automations
Amplify V2 introduces an updated Screener experience that offers more flexibility and AI-powered candidate insights. If you're currently using Amplify V1 for screeners, you’ll need to manually recreate your engagements and update automations to begin using V2.
This article walks you through what’s changing, what steps you need to take, and how to ensure a smooth transition.
What’s Changing?
V1 Screener engagements and automations are not compatible with V2.
You will need to manually recreate:

All job-based automations that were adding questions to jobs via a webhook step. These will need to be rebuilt as job-based automations with the Add Questions step.

All Screener Engagements
Using Automation to interact with Candidates and Clients. Typically done through Survey and chatbot. created in V1. These will need to be recreated using the new V2 interface.

Automation steps that previously sent the V1 screener via a chat engagement. These will need to be rebuilt to send the new screener engagements.
V1 and V2 can temporarily run in parallel to help ease the transition.
Recommended Transition Plan
Get Questions Onto the Job
In order for the screener to work, questions must exist on the job record. There are two ways to do this:

Manually: Recruiters can manually add questions to the job in the ATS.

Automatically: Use the Add Screening Questions automation step (replacing the old webhook method).
If you're currently using a webhook to generate questions, you must recreate that automation using the new Add Questions step.
Recreate Your Screener Engagements
Use the Creating a Screening Engagement guide to build new screeners in V2.

Screeners read questions directly from the job.

Privacy Policy and Terms of Service fields must be added.

Navigate to Settings > Company Settings > Email Branding.

Click Edit.

Enter the Privacy Policy URL.

Enter the Terms of Service URL.
-
Click Save.

Additional questions can be added like a chat.

Use descriptive names to distinguish V1 from V2.
Screener Engagements behave like chat engagements. You can edit, add questions, and personalize them.
Rebuild Automations to Deliver V2 Screeners
Automations that previously sent a V1 screener via chat must be recreated to send the V2 screener.

Use the Send Engagement step.

Select Screener as the Engagement Type.

Choose the appropriate delivery method (Email or SMS).

When sending via Email:

Plain Text auto-populates the URL.
-
Drag-and-Drop auto-creates a button: this button can be moved, but do not delete it.

Set a Cutoff Date
Decide when to stop using V1 and begin using V2. This avoids duplicate outreach and potential confusion.

V1: Candidates added before July 15

V2: Candidates added on/after July 15
Run in Parallel (Optional but Recommended)
Maintain both V1 and V2 screeners temporarily to avoid disruptions.

Old links may still exist in inboxes.

Deactivate V1 once you're confident in the new flow.

Always start by ensuring questions are on the job.

Use clear names for screeners to prevent confusion.

Add all required fields including Privacy Policy and Terms.

Do not remove the auto-generated engagement button.
