Enabling the Gmail Add-On

Learn how to install the Bullhorn for Email Add-On from the Google Workspace Marketplace. You can install it for yourself, your entire domain, or specific organizational units.

The add-on requires the new Gmail interface. If you're using classic Gmail, you'll need to switch to the new interface first.

Before You Begin

What to know about installation:

  • Individual installation takes effect immediately.

  • Domain-wide installation may take up to 24 hours to deploy.

  • Users need to authorize the add-on when they first use it.

If You're Using Classic Gmail:

The add-on requires the new Gmail interface. If you're on classic Gmail, switch to the new interface first.

For individual users:

Click the gear icon in your inbox and select Try the new Mail. If this option isn't available, ask your Google Workspace admin to enable it.

For admins—to enable new Gmail for users:

  1. Go to the Google Admin console > Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail.

  2. Click User Settings.

  3. Select one of these options:

    • Allow users access to new Gmail — Users can opt in themselves.

    • Default users to new Gmail — All users see the new interface on their next login.

  4. Click Save.

Install the Add-On

  1. Go to the Bullhorn for Email Add-On in the Google Workspace Marketplace.

  2. Click Install.

  3. Choose your installation type:

    • Personal: Install for yourself only (default option).

    • Domain Install: Install for your entire Google Workspace domain. Only admins can do this.

  4. Click Continue to grant permissions.

  5. If you selected Domain Install, you'll see a confirmation message noting the 24-hour deployment window. Click Continue again.

  6. Sign in with your Gmail account.

  7. Click Done, then refresh your Gmail inbox.

The add-on is now installed. Users will be prompted to authorize it the first time they open it. For usage details, see Using the Gmail Add-On.
