Changing a User's Password
If a user forgets their password and can’t sign in to Bullhorn, Admin users can reset it directly from the Users page. This article walks you through the steps to create a new password for a user and ensure they can access their account again.
Password Requirements
When creating a new password, it must meet the following security rules:
-
Must include letters, at least one number, and at least one special character (for example: ! @ # $)
-
Must be at least 8 characters and no more than 30 characters
-
Cannot include spaces, your username, or the words "Bullhorn" or "Password".
-
Cannot be the same as any of your last five passwords (or more, depending on your company settings)
-
The plus (+) and forward slash (/) characters are not supported.
For the strongest security, choose a password that uses a varied mix of letters, numbers, and special characters.
Steps to Change a User's Password
- Go to Menu > Users.
-
Locate the user whose password needs to be changed and click the Pencil icon to open their record.
- In the New Password field, enter the user's new password.
As you type, Bullhorn shows a visual indicator of password strength.
You will not see the actual characters for security reasons.
You cannot view the user’s current password.
- In the Retype new password field, enter the same password again to confirm.

- Click Save.
-
Email the user their new password and remind them to update it on their Preferences page after logging in (see Changing Your Bullhorn Password for steps). This ensures that only they know the final password.
