Location Services

Overview

Bullhorn Time and Expense Mobile requires that your location be accessible when you record punches. 

Depending on your setup, there may be a Geofence in place for punch capture. This means there is an allowed location in which punches should be recorded. If you are outside of the Geofence, your punches may be recorded or restricted. If Bullhorn Time and Expense Mobile cannot determine your location, your punches may also be restricted.

About Location Services

For best results, allow Bullhorn Time and Expense Mobile to access your location while the app is running.  

  • Touch Allow to grant the app this permission.
    • You should only be prompted to Allow this access on the first time you use the application.
    • If you touch Don't Allow, there is a chance your punches will not be recorded or sent to Bullhorn Time & Expense.

  • There are three messages you might see on Bullhorn Time and Expense Mobile while using it in the field.

Warning

  • If you receive a "Warning: Outside authorized distance" message, proceed with the following options:
    • Touch Ok to record a punch with your current location.
    • If you want to move to an area that is closer to the designated work location before you record a punch, touch Cancel to discard the punch.
      • No punch will be recorded if you touch Cancel.

  • If you believe that the Geofence or allowed work location needs to be reset or adjusted, please speak to your manager.

Error

If your clock is set to reject punches outside of the Geofence and you attempt to generate a punch, you will receive an "Error: Outside authorized distance" message and your punch will not be recorded.

  • Before a punch can be recorded, you must move inside the Geofence.
  • If you believe the Geo Fence needs to be adjusted, speak to your manager.

Many Bullhorn Time and Expense Mobile setups require your location to be accessible while the app is running.

  • If you see a message like the one below, this indicates that your clock site requires Location Services for all punches.
    • To record punches, you must allow Location Services for Bullhorn Time and Expense Mobile. Follow the instructions on the message to enable Location Services for your device.
