Troubleshooting Indeed Syndication Issues
If your jobs aren’t appearing on Indeed or you’re not receiving applications from Indeed Apply, use this guide to identify and resolve the issue.
Jobs sent to Indeed are delivered through Bullhorn’s automated syndication feed and reviewed by Indeed before appearing live. Because this process involves both systems, small configuration or data issues can prevent postings from displaying as expected.
When to Use This Guide
Use these steps if:
-
A job isn’t appearing on Indeed
-
A posting was removed or shows under the wrong company
-
You’re not receiving applications from Indeed Apply
-
You see duplicate or broken job links
-
You need to confirm whether a job was sent to Indeed
Before You Begin
Make sure that:
-
Indeed Syndication is enabled for your account (contact Bullhorn Support if not).
-
You have a paid Indeed account
-
You’ve waited at least four hours since publishing or republishing the job to allow for Indeed’s review and approval.
Understanding Indeed’s Review Process
All syndicated jobs are reviewed by Indeed before appearing live.
Indeed may reject or remove jobs that:
-
Lack required fields (City, State, Country, or recruiter email)
-
Include location in the job title
-
Duplicate another active posting
-
Violate Indeed’s posting guidelines
If job visibility is inconsistent, contact your Indeed representative for clarification.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Follow these checks in order for best results.
1. Verify the Job Status in Bullhorn
In Bullhorn, open the job record and confirm that it’s Open and Published.
Jobs with a status of Closed, Draft, or Pending Approval will not be syndicated.
2. Check the Indeed Checkbox
Open the Publish Job screen and make sure the Indeed checkbox is selected.
Jobs are only sent to Indeed when the checkbox is selected at the time you click Publish, Republish, or Unpublish.
If it wasn’t checked originally, select it now and Republish the job.
3. Confirm Required Fields
Ensure the following fields are populated on the job:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
|
City, State, Country |
Indeed uses these fields for job location. Don’t include location in the Job Title. |
|
Published Category |
Needed for portal filtering and syndication. |
|
Published Contact Recruiter |
Must include a valid email address. |
|
Job Description |
Blank descriptions can cause rejection. |
If any fields are missing, update them and Republish the job.
4. Search for the Job on Indeed
Use Indeed’s advanced search and enter:
-
Your company name
-
The job title
If the job appears, the syndication is working and was likely delayed during review. If not, continue to the next step.
5. Check the Publishing History
On the job record, open the Activity tab > Publishing History.
-
If “Indeed” appears with a timestamp, Bullhorn successfully sent the job to the feed.
-
If there’s no entry, republish the job to resend it.
6. Check for Duplicate Postings
Indeed may suppress duplicates if your jobs are syndicated from multiple sources (for example, Bullhorn and a direct Indeed account).
If this might apply:
-
Ask your Indeed representative which feed is prioritized.
-
If needed, confirm in writing that you want Indeed to display jobs from Bullhorn as your source of truth.
7. Republish the Job
If everything appears correct but the job is still missing:
-
Open the job.
-
Click Actions > Publish > Republish (make sure the Indeed checkbox is selected).
-
Wait up to four hours, then check Indeed again.
When to Contact Bullhorn Support
If you’ve verified all steps and the issue persists, gather:
-
Job title and job ID
-
Date and time of last publish
-
Whether the Indeed checkbox was selected
-
Any screenshots or error messages
Then contact Bullhorn Support and reference “Indeed Syndication Issue.”
If some jobs appear while others don’t, include both examples — this helps Support compare the XML feed entries.

Indeed may remove duplicates or expired listings. Check that the job is still Open in Bullhorn.
Do I need the Open Source Career Portal (OSCP) for this to work?
No. Indeed Syndication works with both OSCP and custom portals.
