Understanding Indeed Syndication in Bullhorn
If you use Indeed to advertise jobs, Bullhorn’s Indeed Syndication feature helps you connect your job data and applications seamlessly between the two systems.
With this integration, you can:
-
Publish jobs from Bullhorn to Indeed automatically using Indeed Syndication
-
Receive applications from Indeed directly into Bullhorn using Indeed Apply
This article explains how the integration works, who it’s available for, and what to expect once it’s set up.
How the Integration Works
When you publish a job in Bullhorn and select the Indeed checkbox, Bullhorn includes that job in a secure XML feed that’s regularly sent to Indeed.
Here’s what happens:
-
You publish a job and select the Indeed checkbox.
-
Bullhorn sends the job details to Indeed through the feed.
-
Indeed reviews and approves the posting.
-
Jobs sent to Indeed for syndication are subject to Indeed's posting guidelines.
-
-
The job appears on Indeed (typically within four hours).
-
Candidates apply using “Easy Apply” on Indeed.
-
Their details flow directly into Bullhorn as Web Responses with a Source of Indeed.
The integration includes Indeed Apply automatically — no separate setup required.
How to Enable Indeed Syndication
Indeed Syndication requires a paid Indeed account and must be enabled internally by Bullhorn Support. See Requesting Indeed Syndication, or contact Bullhorn Support to get started.
Once enabled, you’ll see the Indeed checkbox on the Publish Job screen.
Compatibility
Indeed Syndication works with both:
-
Open Source Career Portal (OSCP)
-
Custom career portals
It uses the same public REST API as OSCP but operates independently — OSCP is not required.
How Sponsored Jobs Work
If you want certain jobs to appear as sponsored postings on Indeed, sponsorship must be set up directly within your Indeed account. Reach out to Indeed for more information.
Bullhorn cannot mark jobs as “sponsored” or control how they appear on Indeed.

FAQ
Do I need the OSCP to use Indeed Syndication?
No. Syndication works with or without the Open Source Career Portal.
Do I have to republish jobs if I check the Indeed box after publishing?
Yes. Checking the box after publishing doesn’t send the job automatically — you must republish it.
Can I tell from the checkbox whether a job is live on Indeed?
No. The checkbox controls what’s sent to Indeed when you publish, but it doesn’t indicate live status.
Use Activity > Publishing History to verify if a job was sent.
How long does it take for jobs to appear on Indeed?
Jobs typically appear within four hours after publishing or republishing, if approved by Indeed.
Can I control which jobs are sponsored?
Sponsorship is handled directly through your Indeed account, not through Bullhorn.
Can I track job performance (clicks or applies)?
Click-through and sponsorship analytics are managed directly in your Indeed employer account.
Can I see applications from Indeed in Bullhorn?
Yes. Candidates who apply to the job using “Easy Apply” will appear as web responses with a source of Indeed.
What if my jobs or applications aren’t showing up?
See Troubleshooting Indeed Syndication Issues for step-by-step guidance.
