Changing a User's User Type

User types control which features and actions a user can access in Bullhorn. This article explains how to change a user's user type — for example, from a Standard user to an Administrator.

If you're not on Growth Edition and want to edit the entitlements assigned to an existing user type, or create a new custom user type, contact Bullhorn Support.

For more background on user types and how they work, see User Types in Bullhorn ATS.

You'll need Admin-level access to complete these steps.

How to Change a User's User Type

  1. Go to Menu > Admin > Users.

  2. Click the pencil icon to the left of the user whose user type you want to change.

  3. In the User Type field, type and select the new user type from the list.

  4. Click Save.

A user type only appears as an available option if at least one enabled user at your company is currently assigned to it. If the user type you need isn't showing, you have two options:

  • Re-enable a disabled user who has that user type, complete the change, then disable them again.

  • Contact Bullhorn Support to add a user to that user type.
